The Rutherford Cooperative Day Nursery (RCDN) is a non-profit, non-sectarian nursery school located in Rutherford, NJ. It is a combined effort of the professional staff and the parents of the children currently enrolled in the school. It encourages emotional and physical independence and provides an awareness of the outside world as it extends from the home and family. Its objective is to provide encouragement in thinking and physical activity by using materials, which stimulate the five senses. State licensed teachers teach all classes with parent helpers (on a rotating basis). An Executive Board of six officers elected by the membership along with the director and teachers governs the school.

Students at RCDN are divided into two classes based on age groups: pre-school 3's attend Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 to 11:45 AM and pre-school 4's attend Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00AM to 1:30PM.

Age-appropriate skills and programs are used in each class. Circle-Time Lessons, Arts & Crafts, Music Appreciation and supervised Free-Play in a full size gymnasium will enrich your child's day.

RCDN offers a caring, nurturing and professional environment where children can thrive and parents can share in their development.

RCDN's cooperative nursery school allows parents to be completely involved in their childs first educational experience. They assist in daily classes on a rotating basis as well as accompany children on supervised field trips. Parents are the key contributers to RCDN by organizing various school programs and fund-raising activities.
