THREE YEAR OLD PROGRAM

RCDN celebrates the “terrific threes” with a program on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. At RCDN we know that this can be a stressful time for children and their parents, so we try to make the transitional smooth and pleasant one. The children are provided with a relaxed, educational setting which makes it quite easy for them to socialize with new friends, learn and have fun!

While at school, the threes are kept active with playtime, arts and crafts, gym and music. Circle time is busy time too where children hear stories and learn about the subject of the week, the weather and much more.

There are theme and holiday parties: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Pajama Day, Beach Day, as well as Breakfast with Santa and a visit with the Spring Bunny. The three's also get to experience many in school programs that provide physical as well as educational growth.

At the end of the school year our youngest students take part in a promotion ceremony. This is a very special event for the students, complete with the crossing of a “bridge” to symbolize how far the children have come. You will be quite pleased with your child’s first learning experience at RCDN.

For those who want a little bit more time for their child at school, RCDN offers a Lunch & Play program during October - May. The children get extra time in the gym, have lunch with their friends and playtime in the classroom with the day ending at 1:30. The extended day is optional. There is an additional cost for the extended day.

FOUR YEAR OLD PROGRAM

RCDN’s program for four-year-olds is full of activities. The class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. The class time gives children the opportunity for a maximum amount of learning and fun. Like their younger counterparts, the students are kept busy with gym, arts and crafts, show and tell, music and group play with many toys and games.

Learning takes place at RCDN but the children call it fun! They learn to write their name. They work with the alphabet and learn to write and recognize letters and the sounds they make. The students are given an early introduction to science with topics such as volcanoes, clouds, and the planets. Number and math are also introduced.

There are a variety of programs made available to the children throughout the school year: movement, yoga, soccer, art, environmental. Trips throughout the school year include area plays, farms, and museums. The children also take various walking trips to learn more about the community. Programs that are presented in the school give the students the opportunity to learn, see and touch things that are part of the world around them.

But wait…. there’s more! Theme days, holiday parties, bumper bowling, breakfast with Santa and a visit with the Spring Bunny are all of the fun-filled days at RCDN. At the finish of the school year, the children take part in a graduation ceremony complete with caps, diplomas and a year- end party. You will be assured that your child, and you, will come away from the preschool experience with many happy memories!
